Acer Aspire V3-772G-9656 17.3-Inch LaptopYou thought Acer was only making cheap laptops? This review will change your mind! Here we’re reviewing a beautiful sophisticated black Acer Aspire V3 with an Intel i7-4702MQ 2.2 GHz. The price asked is above 1k although we’ve seen it a bit reduced at some locations. This laptop is targeted at all kind of users, not just gamers, but it prides itself in offering superior performance compared to your regular purchase. It might not be a gaming laptop, but a lot of the features could very well please gamers. After all, games are all about images, sound and well, performance, so this Acer Aspire could very well make us want to game for long hours on it. Let’s see if that’s indeed impossible and what’s contained in this laptop.

The first that’s noticeable about the Aspire V3 is its look. The sophisticated black finish holds true to its name and display a modern look that elegant, but also flashy in a way. You’re definitely getting the best of two worlds with this kind of glossy black. Then, what’s good about the V3 is the 1 TB of storage space you’re getting. For the price, this is definitely a good offer, and better yet, this space includes 120 GB sitting on an SSD drive, so you can speed up some of your data if you need to.

Yes, you get all this memory, but that doesn’t mean that this laptop is hard to carry. Like a lot of Acer’s laptops, it’s pretty thin, all while offering a very large screen. It might be a 17.3-inch, but it felt very portable to us. With devices like tablets becoming more popular nowadays, people have to wonder if it’s really still useful to buy a full-size laptop, but the Acer Aspire proves large laptops can still be pretty light, thin and easy to carry on the road. It’s good news for those who don’t want to play games with a touch screen all day.

The graphics card on the V3 is also pretty strong. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M can still pull off great results in a lot of games even if the laptop isn’t marketing as a gaming device firsthand. Also to add a comment that’s not very gaming-related, this large Acer laptop looks especially good when you want to kick back and watch movies. You can just let this light laptop sit on your lap and relax. Besides, you might even want to do that to watch a Starcraft 2 match on a great HD screen.

Does this laptop have any downside? In fact yes. Unfortunately, the battery life isn’t what it could really be with only a 2.5-hour of time one a single charge. You will want to make sure that you have your charger handy most of the time, because when gaming the time can fly by pretty quickly. Hopefully, like anything, people who buy this laptop can get used to this cycle and not be too affected.

Overall, we consider this Acer to be a pretty versatile device. As long as you can keep yourself close to an electric outlet on a regular basis, you will be fine to enjoy all the functionality and power it has to offer. The look is perhaps our favorite part, as it’s discrete and powerful at the same time. It will certainly match a trendy work outfit as you work at cafe. It’s a good Windows 8 laptop that will serve all kinds of purposes. This Full HD CineCrystal certainly impressed us and we were really satisfied as gamers with this one.
